Composites in construction

A customer asked for a market overview and comparative advantages of FRP products from a manufacturer for use in construction and replacing steel rebar.
The reinforcement of concrete (armouring) goes back to military purposes. First reinforcements were towers, bridges and paths. Reinforcing steel bars (rebar) is traditionally used. With advances in technology, alternatives to rebar have been developed. Material-specific requirements and properties are essential for use in construction. Concrete is a composite material and becomes a new composite material through the use of reinforcing material. Composites are characterized by having a matrix and a reinforcing component. A distinction is made between the three types of concrete, ferroconcrete, fiber concrete and textile FRP concrete, according to the type of reinforcing component.
